Besides the graphics is not as cool as I was expecting - the buildings and roads are hardly visible.

Game keeps crashing mid way through. It’s graphics are buggy. Wait till they fix these issues before you buy.
buggy, runs hot (consumes battery more batt than anything else I run). Could use more features such as keyboard keys mapping to game functions. Graphics could use a serious lift as well to make the game easier to see. Catan is a solid A- board game, but this implementation of it is a C+ at best. Catan deserves better.
I had fun at first playing Catan, but as I expanded in Seafarers the app crashes & hangs up A LOT! They really need to fix this problem since this thing cost $14.99! Very discouraging...
I used to love playing The Great Canal. I updated the software and now the whole game has slowed down to a snails’ pace. I can’t stand playing it anymore as it’s taking to long. The dice just slowly tumble in slow motion. It’s awful!
Im hoping they didnt cash in my $17 because it wouldnt even open once for me :/ Not impressed
I would have given this 5/5 if it had been more reliable and had some functionality that I thought would have been common sense. CONS: It crashes in the middle of a game quite frequently which is very frustrating. Theres no autosaving so if you dont save after every single turn (which is just plain annoying), then you stand a good chance of losing your game altogether and having to start again (extremely annoying). The Save feature doesnt work properly - cant overwrite a save and a few other funky things going on there. One thing that I thought would have been really useful would have been key commands for performing functions (i.e. build a road would be b then r). Theres no key command functionality at all. The other thing is theres no way to turn off all the bloody pop-up windows that happen throughout the game. I dont need to know every time what the card is - if I dont know, I can look. I dont need to know every time somone gets robbed - I can figure that out pretty easy. Some control over the amount of pop-ups would be great. In reality, I could play a game in under 30 minutes, if it wasnt for all the pop-ups. Another thing thats just crazy is how much it makes my MacBook Pro fan spin up. I run Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator and other what should be fairly CPU heavy applications and they dont do anything like Catan. As soon as I start Catan, the fan starts ramping up. Seems a little odd if you ask me. PROS: The game play is actually really good. The mechanics are good, the animations are good, the implementation of the actual game is good and I dont win every time which I like, because I want it to be challenging. If the above things were better, definitely a 5/5.
The game doesnt crash like others are saying. Im playing the game, Im near the end of the Seafearers scenarios. The game works well and is worth the money I paid for it. Cheaper than buying the board game! Looking forward to the next upgrades, but its really nice that for now, once Im done with the installed scenarios, that you can already download other maps. Everything is easy and simple to use. I noticed one bug up to now… Ive already played more than 21 hours... I was trying to place a road and the map wouldnt move. But for a game that is at version 1.1.1, Im impressed with the quality of the game! Thumbs up to United Soft Media!
Crashes twice in 3 hours. Dont waste your money
Crashes *every time*
Yes, its a fun game, but only if it actually works. Yes, this game does crash… about every game, and you sometimes cant save it when it freezes… actually you almost never can… SO you end up never being able to finish a game. Extremely annoying. This has obviously been an on-going issue, and youd think they would fix it by now. Lame. Dont buy. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because when it actually is working, its fun.
This game crashes often, this is not excusable. Beyond the crashing, it would be nice to see internet multiplayer support, AUTOSAVING, hotkeys, more “enthusiast” features for those that know the game well: less prompts, quicker enemy moves.
I’ve now been playing this game for a few weeks and while it’s a very addictive and visually attractive game, the old computer version of the game is actually better in several ways. This new version is SLOW! You have to keep clicking off windows which detail every little movement of the game and that takes away time from actually playing it. The old version didn’t have this handicap. The angles of viewing in the new game sometimes make seeing where your roads are difficult. In the old game you looked straight down and could see everything clearly. I’d like to have back the ability to build your own character up and how about allowing us to create an avatar? Now you have to make numerous selections just to get a game going in the scenario choice. I like the ability to turn off trades in the new version and it is a really beautiful game, however, I often find myself going back to the old game which I still have on my computer just because I can play soooo much faster. Even fixing this one little thing would make my rating much higher!
I dont know if its my computer (Mac) but I did not really had problem. It quit on me a couple of times but I just reopen the game and click on "continue game" and it was exactly where I left it. I noticed that if I save the game, the "continue game" wont work. But in all everything is wonderful. Love the application in general. I dont like the fact you cant change your mind sometimes and look at the game board before taking a decision. (Ex.: you play a development card but forget to look at the board before to make your decision... you cant go back.) Sometimes I wish I could zoom out to see (it is not always possible) Really these are little complaints because the whole game works super fine and is wonderful ! I just love it !
No matter how much of a lover of the board game you are, don’t waste your money here. This travesty crashes constantly. When It does work, the game is so biased in favour of the computer players that it is almost impossible to win except at the lowest levels. I have tried to contact the game developers, but they say there is nothing wrong. So, I’m ditching this total rip-of from all my devices. For all the Mac users who claim it works fine, good luck with that.
The Game will not allow you to plaly the game. It will not allow you past the second menue.
Great game. Love the custom scenario, only 4 stars because it is quite bias and a bit steep on the price compared to iOS, but still cheaper than the board game itself. It doesn’t crash for me at all, then again I have a pretty good mac.
This is extremely hard to look at in comparison to the xbox 360 version, and that severely diminishes the experience of play. I wish the graphics and gui could be overhauled to read and play as smoothly as the Xbox version which was more enjoyable. This one seems to try to be detailed to the fault of losing track of pieces in play. Hard to strategize when you spend half the time squinting for whats on the board. The big pro though is that this has the expansions on it which the other port doesnt have.
I love the game, but it crashes A LOT! I cant seem to make it through a complete game without it crashing… Fix it soonest, please!
After installing, it fails to initialize. Followed the AppStore troubleshooting steps with same results. Emailed support and awaiting response. If this is not resolved in one week, I will be seeking a full refund.
